Our goals are aligned with our mission to support individuals, families, and professionals using evidence-based practices and a holistic approach to human development. We create a foundation for development based on regulation, engagement, and relationship building.
Contact UsChild & Family Services
We provide personalized care for children and their families, including speech and language therapy, literacy support, feeding therapy, and developmental interventions—offered in a supportive, relationship-based environment.
Speech & Language Therapy
We help children to build communication skills through a play-based, sensory integration and relationship-based approach tailored to their needs. We address regulation, engagement, shared attention, reciprocity, collaboration, and symbolic thinking. Our approach is family based, to include caregivers and support development at home.
Bilingual Therapy & Biliteracy
We support dual-language learners through culturally responsive speech-language and literacy interventions across languages (preschool and school age). Our relationship-based approach encourages children to communicate, express their ideas, and thrive across languages.
Dyslexia and Language-Based Learning Challenges
We use structured, multisensory approaches to develop phonological awareness, sound-to-letter correspondences and spelling patterns, understanding of syllabification, and use of intonation to support fluency and reading comprehension. We support higher language skills through improved vocabulary, grammar, narrative schemas and metalinguistic awareness.
Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS)
We use targeted interventions for speech motor planning difficulties to improve speech intelligibility and expressive language. Our approach is based on structured sensory integration, phonetic practice, regulation and engagement. Building a strong and trusting relationship is crucial to successful communication.
DIR-Floortime Intervention and Family Coaching
We use the DIR-Floortime model to help children and caregivers to connect emotionally, engage, interact and communicate through play. We work with children at their developmental level, adapt our interactions to support their sensory differences, and to build trusting relationships. We educate caregivers in understanding the DIR model and supporting their child’s development at home.
Pediatric Feeding Therapy
We provide support for feeding challenges related to oral-motor development, sensory processing, and regulation. We use a gentle, relationship-based approach through play. Our focus is in understanding each child’s sensory integration patterns and their impact on regulation, oral motor skills, and the child’s enjoyment of food.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
We support a total approach to communication by adapting to each child’s communication needs, from low to higher technology. We use communication boards, personal picture books, visual schedules, voice output devices, iPad applications (i.e., Proloquo2Go, TouchChat, LAMP). We integrate AAC into play and literacy by supporting meaningful communicative interactions.
Tutoring and Academic Support
We provide customized support in all academic areas for school-age children. This includes support in reading and reading comprehension, writing, math, science, and language arts. Our services are center-based in person and online.
Intense Family Coaching (IFC)
Our Center provides a three-day intensive, in-person experience for families to help caregivers understand and support their child’s development, regulation, and communication. Our training is provided by DIR-Floortime Expert leaders, and includes support in all areas of development.
