Our Team

Dr. Elizabeth Ijalba
Ph.D., CCC-SLP, DIR-Expert
Dr. Ijalba has over 30 years of clinical and teaching experience as a bilingual speech-language pathologist. She has presented and published research in literacy, parent education, autism, and the effectiveness of DIR-Floortime. She integrates sensory, regulatory, and affect based approaches to supporting children with developmental needs and their families. She holds a Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the Graduate Center, City University of New York; a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association; TSHH certification and bilingual extension; she is a DIR-Expert Training Leader through ICDL; she holds Certificates in Sensory Integration from USC, and in Orton-Gillingham Multisensory Training through IMSE; and she is a certified ADHD professional.

Angela Giraldo
M.S., CCC-SLP
Angela Giraldo is a bilingual speech language pathologist specializing in literacy instruction and language based reading difficulties. She is a graduate from Teachers College, Columbia University; she holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; she has extensive experience as a school-based speech language pathologist, clinical supervisor, college professor, and professional development coach. She was recognized in New York State for providing effective parent development literacy workshops within her school district. She is the author of intervention picture books in English and Spanish for children with speech differences associated with cleft palate. She has presented and published on reading challenges across languages. She brings a wealth of knowledge to our team.

Alicia Bustos
M.S., CCC-SLP, DIR Expert
Alicia Bustos is a bilingual, neuro-affirming pediatric speech and language pathologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Alicia has conducted and published research in reading and in the use of prosody in the mother tongue . She supports autistic children and their families by addressing their sensory, regulatory, and communication needs through developmentally tailored, play-based, and evidence-based approaches. She integrates Polyvagal Theory and trauma-informed care into her therapy sessions to foster emotional connections as the foundation of meaningful communication. She brings affect mediated approaches to supervision and therapy to our team.
